Festival ready complete with tie dye!

We got back from Wales last night and in true super mental mode we packed our bags, repacked the car and tie died some baby grows because A. I am a procrastinator and tie dying seemed way more important than packing and B. Are you even festival ready if you haven’t tie dyed at 10pm the night before?! I turned my own face blue by accident which sent Dan almost into a meltdown laughing…

In total honesty, taking a baby to a festival is daunting! She breastfeeds so I don’t need to worry about bottles, I guess the only way I could think to do it with bottles would be to buy the ready made up ones but if anyone bottle feeds and has any useful hacks you can always let others know in the comments. I am lazy so the benefits of breast plus the convenience was always the way I wanted to go and with some help from a lactation consultant I am pleased to say we have achieved it. Should you feel you need some support from a lactation consultant, they tend to run privately. You can find one in your area by going to  https://lcgb.org/find-an-ibclc/

However, now she has started solids I actually have to remember to feed her and not just let her boob it up! So in true lazy mum, coping at a festival style I have bought a tonne of the ‘Ella’s Kitchen’ pouches and we can make up for the lack of baby led weaning when we get home and she can stuff herself with tender-stem broccoli until her heart’s content.

Which festival are we going to I can almost hear you roar?! Towersey is where we are headed. I haven’t done this one before, we usually do Shrewsbury Folk Festival this weekend and truth be told that would have been easier as I know it much better but life is for living and flying by the seat of your pants so sod it lets do something that makes us feel uncomfortable and hope we have a belting time.

We have packed her ear defenders, teething stuff because life isn’t worth living if her teeth are doing her head in, a trolley so we can cart all of our crap and it can double as a baby bed! I did forget the fairy lights for it though so minus 10 festival points for that… She will be in baby grows all weekend for comfort and ease. We are also cheating and are staying in a travelodge because tents are not my bag at the best of times never mind with a baby at a festival.  But should I ever decide I’m crazy enough to get in a tent with a baby i will blog about it…
